A Day in 2050 -My Diary
0500- Rudely woken up by the artificial sun rays.
Breakfast: locust flakes and larval-milk-roaches smoothie. I read a tweet by a historian "The Ukraine Russia war in 2022 escalated into a nuclear war in the Middle-East. It was no longer safe to live on radiation-contaminated grounds. Humans and every living being moved underground, and the only food are the insects that survived in the devastated world..." I can't believe how quickly we got used to living underground – 30 years ago, we thought it was ****.
Note to self - send the scooter for repair on the way home after work. The bug retrieval mode wasn't functioning as efficiently, losing 50% harvests everyday.
The10:00 am meeting with Mr. Crawl on the Cure the Earth Project proposal. We are losing the battle to the virulent diseases borne by the insects we rely as food. We dying like flies. There are teams working on inventing devices for more efficient insect harvest when we go above. Mr.Flea, the lead GMO researcher for insects for food and toiletries with Vitamin D for healthier skin, invited me to experiment on Horsefly (アブ) extracts for bath gels as insect repellent with calming effects for claustrophobia and to aid sleep.
During lunch —
Mr. Crawl: "How are your larvae doing?" (He is asking about my kids).
Me: "They are just like cockroaches! How's your mantis (she's often harsh sharp and
crude). wife doing?
Mr. Crawl: "Yes, always sharp words, but we are earthworms (loving each other
dearly)."
Dinner menu: caterpillar fried rice topped with crispy crickets. Our little hub smells like cockroaches— an experimental product I've been researching on for increasing life expectancy.
My kids and future generations might never know living life above ground - When will Earth heal??
